What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser by a website. It allows the site to remember your preferences across page loads or sessions.
Cookies we use
Maxxer uses a single functional cookie: NEXT_LOCALE. This cookie stores your language preference (for example "it" or "en") so the site displays in the right language on your next visit. It contains no personal data, is never sent to third parties, and expires with your browser session or when you change language.
What we do NOT use
We do not use analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Plausible, Mixpanel or similar). We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not embed third-party tracking pixels. We do not use social media widgets that set cookies.
Local storage
The quiz state (your answers and mode preferences) is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key maxxer-quiz. LocalStorage is not a cookie — it is never transmitted to our server and is deleted when you clear your browser data. We never read or process this data server-side.
How to manage cookies
You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking the NEXT_LOCALE cookie will not break the site — the language will simply default to English or your browser's Accept-Language header. Instructions: Chrome → Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies. Firefox → Settings → Privacy & Security. Safari → Settings → Privacy.
Changes
If we ever add new cookies (for example if we introduce analytics), we will update this page and the date above before doing so. We will not set new cookies without updating this policy first.
